Meet the Teachers
August 2024
Welcome to 4th grade! I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I am thrilled to be your teacher this year and am looking forward to learning all about you, but first, please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally.
I am originally from Holland, PA and now live in Doylestown with my husband and two daughters, Annie (7) and Mia (almost 4). I went to Council Rock High School (before there were 2!). I graduated from Penn State University (WE ARE!) with a degree in K-6 education and have a master's degree with a K-12 Special Education certificate from Holy Family University. I have been teaching 4th grade at Newtown Elementary since 2014. Prior to teaching here, I taught for 8 years at Rolling Hills Elementary. I also taught kindergarten at Arunside Primary School in Horsham, England at the very beginning of my career.
My family and I have had a great summer so far. We've enjoyed weekend trips to Ocean City, NJ and many trips to the pool. We are doing a renovation at our house, so it's felt a little like camping!
I am looking forward to many things this school year, especially working with my teaching partner Mrs. Lingman! We have many fun things planned for you and cannot wait to get started. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I can't wait to meet you soon!
Fondly,
Mrs. Kelly Battipaglia

Dear 4th Grade Students and Families,
Hello! I hope you are enjoying the summer and spending time with your friends and family. Let me take this opportunity to express my enthusiasm for the upcoming school year. Fourth grade is going to be a wonderful experience!
I have been lucky enough to teach at Newtown Elementary for twenty-two years. Previously, I have taught 4th, 1st, 5th and 6th grade and am looking forward to returning to 4th grade. I am also extremely excited to have Mrs. Battipaglia as my teaching partner! My certifications include both elementary and special education which I received from La Salle University. I completed my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Holy Family College. Additionally, I have my Special Education Supervisor certification from Delaware Valley University.
On a personal note, my family and I spent time in the Poconos and Mexico this summer. It was nice to experience both the mountains and the beach. My husband is also part of the Council Rock family, and he teaches English at Council Rock South. We have twin daughters, Leah and Mariah, who recently graduated high school and will be going to college at the end of the summer. We also have a dog named Rocky that we completely adore. I know I will tell stories about all of them throughout the school year.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Working together as a team is key to every child’s success. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lingman
