Dear Second Grader and Family,
My name is Mrs. Coolahan and I am thrilled to be your teacher this year! It is going to be our best year yet, filled with new learning opportunities and new friendships. Newtown Elementary is such a special place, and each of you will contribute to our community in many ways!
Would you believe we already have something in common? I went to Council Rock too and second grade was my FAVORITE! After I graduated from CR North, I obtained my teaching degree from West Chester University, where I was also a collegiate diver. I have taught first, third, fourth and sixth grade, and even coached high school diving for our district. Shortly after, I earned my masters degree from La Salle University. Like you, I LOVE learning new things and am continuing my education.
This summer, I spent my family vacation in Topsail Island, North Carolina, with my husband and two daughters, Keely (7) and Clare (4). We LOVE being on the water and have spent our summer boating, water skiing, and on the beach. We also have a chocolate lab, Dozer, who you will hear all about. Another one of my hobbies is reading, and I cannot wait to share that passion with you this year!
This will be a year like no other and we are going to make great memories and have fun!
